Shengsong Xie is an associate professor in the Department of Animal Physiology and Biochemistry, College of Veterinary Medicine, and a research member in the Key Lab of Agricultural Animal Genetics, Breeding, and Reproduction of Ministry of Education at Huazhong Agricultural University. Before taking the position at Huazhong Agricultural University, he worked as a Research Associate at the Shanghai Key Laboratory for Molecular Andrology, State Key Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences (SIBCB), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) from 2013 to 2014. He received a Ph.D. degree from Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences in 2013, B.S. degree for Animal Science and M.S. degree for Animal genetics, breeding and reproduction from Huazhong Agricultural University in 2006 and 2009, respectively. His current research interest is to use the CRISPR/Cas9 knockout library strategy to high-throughput screening and identification of disease resistance genes for disease resistance breeding research. In addition, he developing new genome editing software and databases. Until now, the related work has been published in the Bioinformatics, Biology of Reproduction, J Mol Cell Biol, Curr Issues Mol Biol, Mol Ther Nucleic Acids, Int J Biol Sci,FASEB J,Reproduction, Molecular reproduction and development, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Animal genetics and other international academic journals.
